Privacy Policy

The short version
TexasFlix keeps a small account record, your watch history, and nothing else. We do not run advertising, we do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not add tracking pixels. The one part of this policy that deserves a real read is the section on third-party video providers — when you press play, your browser talks directly to another company's server, and that company is not us.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name, your email address, and either a password hash (salted, one-way) or the sign-in provider you used. We store a hash, never a plain password.
- A profile picture URL. If you sign in with Google or Discord, we keep the link to the avatar those services give us so your profile tile looks like you.
- What you watched. Titles you played, plus your list and your resume position, so the shelf is there when you come back on another device.
- Session data. A signed token in your browser's local storage that proves you are signed in, and a short-lived anti-forgery value during a sign-in attempt.
- Server logs. The hosting platform records ordinary request metadata — IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent — for abuse control. We do not build a profile out of it.
We never ask for a phone number, a date of birth, a payment method, or a real-world identity.
How it is used
Only to run the features you can see: keeping your list and your place in a show, letting one account work on two devices, and stopping scripted sign-up abuse. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, recommendation training, or anything you have not asked for by pressing a button.
Sign-in with Google or Discord
When you choose one of those buttons, your browser goes to that provider and comes back with a single-use code. Our server — not your browser — exchanges that code using a secret only we hold, then reads your name, email address and avatar from the provider's profile endpoint. We request the smallest set of fields available, we do not keep the provider's access token after that read, and we cannot see your mail, your contacts or your messages through it.
Your sign-in with those providers is also governed by their own policies: Google Privacy Policy and Discord Privacy Policy.
Video providers
TexasFlix hosts no video files. It is a catalogue and a launcher: we show you metadata and artwork, and the player embeds a third-party service that actually delivers the stream. When you press play, your browser makes requests straight to that third party.
Those requests carry your IP address, your browser and device details, and the page you came from. Those companies may set their own cookies, keep their own logs, and apply their own terms — including ads or pop-ups on their side. We do not control them and cannot make a promise about them. If that matters to you, use a browser with strong tracking protection, or sign out and browse without an account so nothing on our side ties the session to a name.
Cookies and local storage
- A session record in
localStoragethat keeps you signed in on this device. - Your watch list, history and resume points, also in
localStorage, stored per account so two people on one computer do not overwrite each other. - Your chosen interface language, in a cookie and in local storage.
- One temporary value during a Google or Discord sign-in, used to confirm the request came from this browser and expires in ten minutes.
- No advertising cookies. No cross-site trackers of our own.
Clearing site data signs you out and erases the lists held on that device. If your account data was synced to the server, signing back in pulls it down again.
Bot protection
Sign-up and sign-in are behind Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a small script and sends Cloudflare technical signals about the browser to decide whether the request is a human. That is a processor relationship on Cloudflare's side, and it exists so the site does not fill up with scripted accounts.
The Movie Database
Titles, artwork, descriptions, cast and ratings come from the TMDB API. TMDB is the source of that content and has its own terms and privacy notice at themoviedb.org. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
How long we keep it, and how it goes away
Account records stay while the account exists. Watch history is kept for the most recent hundred titles per account. Server logs roll with the hosting platform's retention.
To delete your account and everything attached to it, write to support@texasflix.watch from the address on the account and say "delete my account". We remove the row and the synced lists, and confirm when it is done. You can also remove yourself from a device at any time by signing out and clearing site data.
Children
This site is not directed at children and collects nothing knowingly from anyone under 13. If a child's account appears, contact us and it will be removed.
Where this runs, and changes
The application and its database are hosted on cloud infrastructure outside your home, so data is processed in the regions those providers operate. If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, the date at the top moves and the new text is what applies from the next visit.
